Dear Gentle Reader,

It is a truth universally acknowledged that, at some point, every child or child at heart will want to visit Walt Disney World Resort. Well, maybe not every child, but at least more than will recognize the literary reference I just dropped.*

I am one such child at heart. Or just child, depending on who you talk to.

If you are busy researching, planning, or dreaming about your next Walt Disney World vacation and are completely overwhelmed by the official WDW site as well as the pantheon of unofficial WDW sites, have questions that you're just not getting answered, and are confident enough in yourself that if you are armed with the answers to your questions and are happy to just be going to Walt Disney World and know it will be awesome BECAUSE YOU ARE IN WALT DISNEY WORLD and therefore wouldn't dream of canceling your vacation because ONE RIDE will be closed for refurbishments during your visit**, and (most importantly) find humor in people whose entire vacations were ruined because:

  • their ground level hotel room with a lake view that exists on a swath of land that was ONCE A FLORIDA SWAMP and has a "slightly damp smell";
  • their entire evening at Circque du Soleil was RUINED, RUINED I TELL YOU because they tried to get up and exit the theater during an act which involved performers coming down the aisle and the usher asked them to sit down;
  • Disney does not allow selfie sticks which means I CAN'T USE MY GOPRO TO TRACK MY FAMILY'S EVER MOVE THAT I WILL NEVER WATCH AGAIN;
  • AND THEN WROTE ABOUT THESE EXPERIENCE UP AS ONE-STAR REVIEWS ON PUBLIC TRAVEL SITES***

You are in the right place, my friends.

And you're still reading! Thank you!

I think there are a lot of amazing Walt Disney World websites out there, from the big daddy official site to the obsessive planners to the die-hard Disney fans to the incredible travel consultants to the foodies, and everything in between. But this amount of information can be incredibly overwhelming.

And they really aren't always really that funny.

The majoirity of these sites are written either towing a company line or wearing rose-colored Mickey ears which seep pixie dust into their brain, or are written from a very narrow personal view of the best way to "do" Walt Disney World. This puts a lot of undue pressure on the uninitiated and creates incredibly high expectations, which can rapidly turn to dastardly disappointment if someone is simply following a nearly minute-by-minute plan as opposed to arming themselves with a stack of knowledge and then making their own informed decisions.

So. This is what Five Star Mouse will do for you.

The content of this site is primarily reader driven - I strive to research and write articles that are pertinent to what YOU want to know. Anyone can submit a question through the Contact page, and I will answer them in the order received on the Blog, so that you and other readers can all benefit.

If you would like additional assistance in planning your Disney Vacation, you can also request that through the Contact page. Note: I am not a travel agent nor an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, so I cannot book your vacation for you.

A secondard source for articles comes from one-star reviews left on other sites. I will probably make fun of them, like the examples referenced above. Because something deserved to be knocked down a peg or two.

A third souce of information for you comes from the basics on the Essentials, Parks, Resorts, and Dining pages.

This site is committed to the following:

  • I believe in citing my sources. All writing and advice, unless otherwise noted, comes from my own brain or the official Walt Disney World information. Any secondary sources (websites, guidebooks, podcasts) will be properly cited with links. Additionally, all phots are my personal photos unless otherwise credited. If you feel that anything on this website is taken from another site and not credited, please email me and I will investigate it immediately.
  • At no time will any information on this site be behind a paywall. I don't believe in charging you for inforamtion since all I am doing is researching. In the future I do plan on creating ebooks with well organized information from the blog. This will be available for you to download for a nominal fee. If you are an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner or produce any kind of products (i.e. etsy shops) that you think readers would enjoy, please contact me to discuss advertising fees.
  • I believe in writing straight forward information that is easy to understand, with a healthy dose of humor. If you feel that anything is confusing or mean-spirited, please contact me.
  • I believe in honoring all questions and reader responses, no matter how in-depth or quick they are.

So WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS PAGE? Go forth, read, email me, and enjoy your Walt Disney World vacation!

*The opening line of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
**I actually read several people saying this after Soarin' announced its five-month closure in early 2016. I...I...what?
***All of these are things I read in one-star reviews of Walt Disney World. True story.
